Why Should You Buy This Book?

The author of the CompTIA Network+ study guide, Todd Lammle, is a well known networking technology instructor, also he is a big Cisco trainer and Firepower trainer. But most of all, he makes sure you understand the concepts and over delivers in this book so that you are well prepared for the exam. IN addition, he adds a lot of additional information regarding network security and defense, which will be on the exam.

My Personal Experience ..

I recently decided to leave my 14 year long career in real estate investment management and pursue a career into cyber security. I had no previous experience and thought I would pass over the A+ and go directly to Network+ to accelerate my training. I was not happy with classroom prices and thought I would simply self-train my self. I bought Lammle’s Network+ book because I knew of him from the Cisco training books and courses I saw online and he appeared to have a very authoritative reputation in Cisco and networking technologies.  Since my long term goal was to eventually get Cisco CCNA and Security certified, I bought his book and one other one for 2 perspectives. Make a long story short, 2 months later and with lots of strong self-motivation, I took the test and passed (007). I believe Lammle’s book made a HUGE difference, because the Network+ test was heavy on Wireless troubleshooting and security.

Subnetting!

If you are newer to Networking / I.T., subnetting may intimidate you a little like it did for me. However, between some YouTube videos and Lammle’s method fully described in this CompTIA Network+ study guide, it all made sense and clicked. If you can add or subtract, then you will have NO PROBLEM determining the number of hosts on a subnet or how to create new subnets in enterprise environments.

Another thing that Lammle make very clear to you in this book and this is what will also set you apart from your competition…understanding how to make your employer/client MONEY, how to save them money or make them money by implementing smart strategies in their network. Lets face it, most network engineer and security jobs will be enterprise-based, so you are going to have to understand how to create and/or maintain an efficient network(s) wherever you end up working. If you can do this you will command the highest pay and bullet-proof employment.

In conclusion, to say the very least, invest in a winner and tool that will get the job done, this book will be an invaluable asset to passing the CompTIA Network+ exam!
